Here is a list of some of the top STEM schools in the US. In the United States for university purposes, STEM is usually divided into five categories – Physical Sciences, Applied Economics & Management, Mathematics, Computer Science and Pre-Medicine. Furthermore, the increasing demand for STEM professionals in various fields like healthcare, transportation, and technology, it is important to encourage students to pursue STEM careers. It also teaches critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, which are essential skills for success in any field. STEM education is important because it provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the 21st century workforce. Together, these subjects help us understand and improve the world around us. For example, engineers use scientific principles to design and build structures, while scientists use technology to collect and analyze data. STEM subjects are interrelated and often overlap. These subjects are considered to be crucial for the development and advancement of any society, as they form the foundation for innovation and progress. Thus, it will be exciting to see how biotechnology creates new avenues for innovation which will transform our world.STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. One of the underlying reasons of the venture is to enable functional food sources as humans colonize Mars or other outer space regions. Another example of an innovation outside of medicine is the use biotechnology to produce food from carbon dioxide, electricity and water, rather than traditional agricultural sources such as plants. As I’ve written in the past, as these advances in STEM continue they will transform our perception of art and the influence of technology in becoming art. A t-shirt utilizing this leather was exhibited at the MoMA, which focused on the interplay of fashion and art. This biofabricated material can be tuned in strength or density, has a range of applications from furniture, to automotive, to fashion. One such example is the use of collagen to develop a leather that does not rely on animal products at all, a first of its kind synthetic leather. However, there are applications of biotechnology advances that go beyond medicine. Although most of us associate life-sciences and biotech advances most closely with the medical and pharmaceutical sector, largely due to the vast activity in the space as well as the revolutionizing work of several initiatives to treat cancer such as Crisper and CAR-T immunotherapies. Thus, the next decade advances and innovation through STEM related disciplines will shape our understanding of space and travel, and with that open new avenues for careers in innovation in these areas.Īdvances in the life sciences will continue to grow and bring about new products which will not only transform the medical field but also our concept of day-to-day life, comfort and even art. Additionally, among commercial and civic aspects, NASA’s aviation program is looking to explore how to reduce fossil fuel emissions by using electrical propulsion in aircrafts, which is a stepping stone to creating an electric aircraft. The much aviated X-shaped aircraft promises to be much quieter, travel at faster speeds and use fuel more efficiently. Most recently NASA’s X-59 quiet supersonic research aircraft, which has been in production for three decades, was cleared for final assembly in 2019 and is scheduled to take its first flight in 2021. As a matter of fact NASA’s program in aviation advances has made several leaps forward this year. Moreover, as we move toward space exploration, advances in technologies will also congruently yield advances in aviation. Several well known initiatives such as those by NASA and Ellon Musk’s SpaceX, as well as Jeff Bezo’s Blue Origin, show that our interest and investment in space and its exploration is going to continue to grow. In the past few years we have seen a tremendous interest in colonizing space, especially Mars.
